The Academic Council of JQRC

An Academic Council has been set up under the JQRC Board, comprising Board Directors and a number of senior academics from both member and non-member institutions and also professionals from industry/commerce, to formulate strategies and to advise on and implement the quality assurance framework for the peer review of member institutions. 

In 2006, the Academic Council recommended to the JQRC Board of Directors a two-stage review framework, consisting of a Preview and an Institutional Review.  The Framework was adopted by the Board, and the Preview subsequently commenced.

The Preview is a major stock-taking of the quality assurance processes at the Self-financed Sub-degree Programme Units (SSPUs) of the member institutions. It also serves as a preparation for the full Institutional Review, and has the additional purpose of endorsing the self-financed sub-degree programmes for placement on the Qualifications Framework (QF).
